This is particularly prevalent with the EcoBoost engine, which can be known for poor reliability without good preventative maintenance.   AIRTEC Motorsport’s solution to developing a catch can kit specifically for the Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost Mk7 model utilises the heat shield from our AIRTEC Motorsport Stage 2 induction kit to attach the mounting bracket.     034Motorsport's engineers invested significant effort in developing and testing to create the most comprehensive and effective catch can kit for the 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 motor. Fitment -Volkswagen   Golf Mk8 -Audi  A3 (8Y 2020-)  S3 (8Y) Why is the OE PCV System Insufficient? While the EA888.4 PCV system is a step up from the EA888.3, this current generation system is still largely based on the previous generation’s design with some improvements. The new PCV features a revised diaphragm and check valve system to help regulate crankcase pressures better and an improved oil separator with a new internal baffle to reduce the amount of oil vapor that could be recirculated into the intake manifold. Despite these improvements, we still see oil and water vapors entering the intake tract in our long-term extreme testing. These contaminants pool in various components of the intake tract and get sucked into the engine, producing carbon build-up on the intake valves and leading to oil consumption. This issue is exacerbated when pushing beyond stock power levels. What’s the fix? Utilizing our years of experience in Motorsport Racing, 034Motorsport engineers designed a Catch Can Kit that intercepts these oil vapors before entering the turbo inlet in an intricate baffle that allows the engine to continue ingesting the excess crankcase pressure but traps unwanted oil and water vapors. Once collected by the 034Motorsport Catch Can, this excess fluid can drain into the oil pan with the integrated drain line, similar to the operation of the factory PCV Air Oil Separator. This decreases oil in your intake tract and reduces carbon buildup on intake valves, resulting in a cleaner combustion process. In addition to maintaining a cleaner combustion process, our kit integrates with the factory EA888.4 Venturi system to help maintain optimal crankcase pressures. This factory system is a huge step up over previous generations of the EA888 as it significantly improves the PCV’s overall effectiveness by allowing for consistent evacuation of crankcase gases. The front part of the original undertray on these cars is notoriously weak due to its fibre material construction and as a result is prone to failure over time. Our solution is a direct replacement, three-piece undertray made in aluminium that reuses all of the original mounting points to ensure a perfect and secure fitment. Unlike others on the market, the design of the oil cooler extraction ducting has also been carefully considered to imitate the original in order to maintain sufficient cooling. As a result, the sides of the ducts are enclosed against the oil cooler and the radius of the ducting increased in size. There are also brake duct cut outs to allow the use of a GT4-style splitter with brake cooling ducts. Finished in a high-quality black powder coat finish, the undertray offers improved strength, durability and cooling effectiveness. These deposits rob the engine of power and efficiency. Traditional methods of manually removing these deposits can be difficult, time consuming, and expensive. The 034Motorsport Direct Injection Head Port Cleaning Tool makes short and easy work of removing these deposits from your intake ports and valves. The tool has a small port for a media blasting wand and a large port that connects to a shop vacuum hose. The vacuum generated by the shop vac holds the tool in place up against the intake port, freeing your hands to focus on the media blasting. To use, simply rotate the crankshaft to close the intake valves in a given intake port before positioning the Direct Injection Head Port Cleaning Tool on the intake port. This kit offers a comprehensive solution to improve the standard breather set up on the popular 2.0 & 2.3-litre Focus EcoBoost engines. The package features a machined billet baffle plate to replace the original Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) plate and valve set that features extra baffles to decrease the amount of oil that is able to enter the intake system. It also features take-offs for one or two external oil breather tanks to further help reduce crankcase pressure and carbon build-up that can plague these engines. The kit is simple to fit and comes with all fixtures, fittings and correctly sized pre-cut hoses. Once installed, the breather tanks oil content can be monitored with the lid mounted dipstick, The kit can be bought in separate packages (top or bottom), if only one section is required.
